Privacy Policy — Emlekezz

Emlekezz (“we”, “us”) is a personal “second brain” that stores the notes, tasks, ideas, and expenses you choose to save, and uses AI to help you recall them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. It applies to https://www.emlekezz.com and the Emlekezz app.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password.
Content you create. Everything you dump into the app — notes, tasks, ideas, expense amounts, tags, and any code or text you paste. This is the data the app exists to store for you.
Session data. A single secure cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

How we use your information

To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To store your entries and show them back to you.
To power recall: your entries are turned into numerical embeddings so the assistant can find relevant ones, and your questions plus the matching entries are used to generate answers.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your private content for advertising. Your entries are visible only to your own account.

Service providers we share data with

We rely on a small number of processors to run the service. They only receive what they need to perform their function:

Google — sign-in (you authenticate with your Google account).
OpenAI — embeddings and AI answers. The text you save and the questions you ask are sent to OpenAI’s API to generate embeddings and responses. OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train its models by default.
Neon — the managed PostgreSQL database where your account and entries are stored.
Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

Data retention and deletion

Your entries are kept until you delete them. Deleting an entry removes it from the database; deleting a profile removes that profile and all of its entries. To delete your entire account and associated data, contact us at support@emlekezz.com and we will remove it.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our database provider. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your rights

You can access and edit your entries at any time in the app, and request export or deletion of your data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Children

Emlekezz is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
